Relining the Brake Shoes

Whilst this article is not specific to the pre-war Austin Seven it may provide extra information, and/or clarify, that which is available from other sources.  Articles specific to the Austin Seven are in sections of The Austin Service Journal; and those written by our members are in Technical Articles.

NB: As this is a specialist task it is strongly recommended that you use the services of a Brake Reline Company if you are not entirely sure of, or skilled in, the process.  Brake Reline Companies often advise glueing and rivetting.  If the shoe is not properly rivetted it may soon slip and cause a problem on the road.
